AUSTIN PBS WRITERS SHOWCASE 2026
We are back and excited to read new stories!
We’re looking for amazing stories written and illustrated by kids in Kindergarten to 5th grade!
The Austin PBS Writers Showcase promotes children’s literacy and art through hands-on, active learning. Children in the Austin PBS viewing area can write and illustrate original stories, then submit them to Austin PBS. All entries are published on this website and the top stories from each grade level will be selected by independent judges to receive prizes. All top stories will be read aloud at our Writers Showcase Celebration event in May, where we’ll celebrate the winners and all the children who submitted a story.

Please read these rules first prior to submitting stories. As a reminder, the story should include the author’s FIRST NAME ONLY, NO LAST NAME, and NO PICTURE OF THE CHILD in the story title or the story itself. Do NOT write the school name in the story.

¡Estamos de regreso y emocionados por leer nuevas historias!
La Exposición de Escritores de Austin PBS promueve alfabetismo y arte en los niños a través de actividades de aprendizaje activo. Los niños del área de alcanze de Austin PBS pueden escribir e ilustrar cuentos originales y enviarlos a Austin PBS. Todos los cuentos serán publicados en nuestra página de internet y los cuentos ganadores de cada grado serán seleccionados por jueces independeintes para recibir premios. Todas los cuentos ganadores serán leídos en voz alta en la Celebración de la Exposición de Escritores en Mayo, en donde celebraremos a todos los ganadores y a todos los niños que enviaron su cuento.
La fecha límite de envío es el 31 de Marzo del 2026

Padres y maestros pueden enviar los cuentos. Vean las instrucciones en el enlace de aquí abajo.
Por favor lea las reglas antes de enviar el cuento. Como recordatorio, el cuento debe de incluir SOLAMENTE el NOMBRE del autor, NO EL APELLIDO, NI TAMPOCO LA FOTO DEL NIÑO/A en el cuento en si. NO escriba el nombre de la escuela en el cuento.
